Berlin in Frame
Brandenburg Gate
The Brandenburger Tor is a monumental gate built in the 18th
century as a symbol of peace. During the Cold War, when the gate was located
right near the border between East and West Berlin, it became a symbol of a

Berliner Dom
The Berliner Dom is a baroque Cathedral built between 1894
and 1905. It is located on an island in the river Spree, also known as the Museum Island.

Holocaust Memorial
In May 2005, on the 60th anniversary of the fall of the Nazi
regime and the end of World War II, the city of Berlin dedicated their
Holocaust Memorial, designed to commemorate the murder of six million Jews at
the hands of Hitler and his forces. more info click here
Den Opfern Krieg und Gewaltherrschaft
Memorial to victims of war and violence. This sculpture sits
in a memorial along Unter den Linden. Quite a moving modern pieta.

to prevent East Germans from escaping to the West, most of the Berlin Wall has
